Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center

About

Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center is an 808-acre tallgrass prairie sanctuary and education center. Miles of walking trails through prairie, wetland and woodland. Thousands of children and adults attend our school and public programs each year. Beautiful straw-bale visitor center open daily year-round. The site is on the National Register of Historic Places because of existing ruts from the Oregon trail cutoff. The Center is located about twenty-five minutes from city campus - three miles south of Denton. This is a wonderful place to get real-world experience with habitat management, working with children and the public, and with how conservation really works in our community. While serving at the Spring Creek Audubon Center, you'll have the opportunity to be involved with habitat management, marketing and public relations, public policy, and educational programs. This is an excellent opportunity for CASNR and education majors! Times are flexible, and training is provided. A volunteer application is available on the Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center's website
